The Age reports that: Cabinet Secretary Arthur Sinodinos said he doesn’t know if taxpayer funds have been paid to a private company controlled by Liberal Party bosses, which in turn transferred $500,000 to the Coalition.
Don’t know, don’t care, and can’t remember.
On Tuesday, Fairfax Media revealed nearly all Liberal MPs paid private firm Parakeelia Pty Ltd $2500 a year for use of voter tracking software, with the money understood to come from MPs taxpayer-funded office allowances.
Parakeelia’s 98 per cent shareholder, businessman and former Liberal treasurer Ron Walker, said on Wednesday he was unaware he was still associated with the company and referred questions back to the Liberals.
The Coalition campaigns on the basis of being responsible financial managers yet senior members of the Parliamentary party seem to have difficulty keeping track of relatively large sums of money.
