I do and things have changed a bit since the 1970s.
We were seated quickly, menus arrived quickly, our waitress arrived to take orders quickly and the food arrived quickly. It was a bit of a contrast to when we stopped at Wye River General Store a month or so ago. Both places cater for the passing trade but the similarities end there. The food at Merricks was excellent. We had the marinated white anchovies w fresh herbs, local garlic & olive oil, pulled pork sliders with asian slaw and the grilled australian prawns on skewers w tomato & harissa sauce. All excellent. But the anchovies recalled a glorious afternoon in Manarola on the Cinque Terre. Magic
